Black Sherif is far the fastest growing artiste currently in Ghana, His real name is MOHAMMED ISMAIL SHERIF, this artiste has been in the music industry for about 4years now. This makes him a very young artiste of 22years old.
Black Sherif announced the release of his debut album “THE VILLAIN I NEVER WAS” which created so much anticipation in Ghana and caught so much attention. He has explained the reason for the name “THE VILLAIN I NEVER WAS” he said this album is an auto biography of himself talking about his trials and tribulations.
“It took me everything to give life to this body, the one thing in my life that I gave up for, there is life in this body” the young artiste said on a post he wrote on his social media handle.
The album signifies his journey through the start of his music career and where he has gotten to, it talks about his livelihood and his societies like Konongo Zongo, which was a track on his album, and also how he has been homeless for some time, He also talked about pressing on no matter the challenges the world throws at him with the song Soja, the album also had tracks like 45, We UP, Sad Boys Don’t Fold etc… which are all great tracks with nice tunes and more drill music which makes him a unique artiste.
I cry sometimes when I think about my life, I get happy sometimes too. Villain means the inferior guy I never was. I usually don’t care about what people say about me. The things I saw at age 7, others saw at age 18 because of where I come from “zongo”. He said;
“I don’t believe anyone can sabotage me; I don’t believe. They can try but I don’t believe it can get to me because I have not wronged anyone” he said on LUV FM on Wednesday 12 oct,22.
The young artiste continued speaking on an explanation to a question asked as to whether he’s perfect, he replied “I am not perfect, I can ever be perfect” that is why I try to be real and raw in whatever art I put out, because am human, I have flaws and I have ups and downs he concluded.
