Declan Rice has urged Arsenal to show more “savviness” after admitting their Champions League inexperience cost them in Wednesday’s round-of-16 defeat to Porto. Arsenal was beaten 1-0 in the first leg at Estadio do Dragao as Galeno curled in a stunning 94th-minute winner following a passage of play in which the visitors made several individual mistakes as they tried to see the game out.
Declan Rice has made some comments on Arsenal’s performance lately he said that his former club needs to improve their game management and decision-making in the Champions League.
Rice, who left Arsenal for Real Madrid in January 2024, said that Arsenal has a lot of quality players, but they need to be cleverer and more composed in the big games.
“You are going to come up against teams who are watching us and seeing what they can do to stop us.
“Not every game is going to be fives and sixes,” Rice added.
He also praised his former manager Mikel Arteta for his work at the Emirates Stadium.
