Let’s talk about the sweeping landscape of the Tongo Hills at Tenzug which are reason enough to visit. The Tongo Hills is a group of mountains located south of Tongo, Ghana. The hills are located in the Ghanaian Upper East Region of Ghana.
Tongo is a village which is also a home to multiple shrines. The shrines draw people from across Ghana and other neighboring countries who believe they have a sacred power to provide guidance and resolution of problems. The Hills form a U-shaped valley which is opened towards north.
Tenzug is also a village where combination of natural beauty and cultural richness has resulted in it being short-listed for future consideration as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
There are other tourist attractions around Tongo Hills such as Tenzug Shrine. This shrine is a traditional sacred place which requires the removal of your shirt before entering. There is also an Old school which also serve as an attraction because it was built with rocks and has been in existence for ages. Lastly there is a Hiding Cave where the inhabitants of Tenzug were hiding from the British colonialists.
